Bullitt Center Grand Opening

On a much-welcomed sunny morning in Seattle, the Bullitt Center officially opened its doors to the public with a dedication ceremony and guided building tours, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the six-story facility. Appropriately held on Earth Day, the grand opening ceremony for the largest commercial Living Building in the world included comments from Governor Jay Inslee, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, Bullitt Foundation CEO Denis Hayes, Bullitt Foundation Board Chair Maud Daudon, and Founder Harriet Bullitt (below):

They repeatedly spoke of the Seattle/Washington community leading the future in sustainability, and the desire for the Bullitt Center to be the first of many of its kind. According to Hayes, the center will “help transform the way we build, here and around the world.”

PSF worked closely with the team on design, value engineering and constructability issues on this groundbreaking project. Start-up, test & balance and commissioning were also performed by PSF.
